6-meter 7-ele OWA Yagi

6-meter 7-ele OWA Yagi

I have been lured to the 6-meter band for a long time:

  • Tony (3D2AG) mentioned the magical band several times
  • Online resources
  • Catching DXs when the propagation is far from being guaranteed
  • Year 2025 is near the peak of solar activity, and it is late May … – when if not now! ๐Ÿ™‚

However, my antenna analyzer supports up to 35 MHz. So, I had to purchase a new one, which I did a couple of months ago… Materials have been on the ground for a month, at least … Thus, I haven’t had any excuses anymore not to build a decent Yagi and feel the band.

I don’t plan to operate FT8 (though, never say never ๐Ÿ™‚

However, as far as I hear, SSB is not the main mode for the band. Let’s see. I haven’t had a chance to operate any DXs – only local stations. But I hope to have fun ๐Ÿ™‚

This time, I didn’t invent the wheels and took a ready-to-use design by G0KSC.

Since my tubes/profiles were different and I wanted to be 100% that the lowest part of the band had a SWR, I increased the dimensions of the elements by 3+3 cm.
